Second Life camera
Art made easy! Camera
Second Life sim cameras
The camera is easy to operate
~ begin by disabling camera constraints
Ctrl - Alt - Mouse click objects that you want to centre on
and spin around in the 3D environment - its that simple!
Use the mouse wheel to scroll (zoom) in and out
Alt - Space bar to zoom in for close up
Ctrl - 0 zero also does zoom in close
So now you have 3D art you can be creative with your camera
Aerial photography is possible easily although make the
picture look realistic from the point of view
Its easier to photograph yourself - which is why I come as
(and have experienced models that I know I can work with)
When you're making your picture think about 'pictures on a
and where the image will finally be presented (wall,
portfolio, submission, newsletter, wire service, etc) Art
Now you have your digital
image on your harddrive, edit with image manipulation
software. We use different programs for different jobs
eg batch filing and changes to a lot of images, such as when
changing .bmp images into .jpegs can be done in Microsoft
We try and use as little photoshop as
possible although we are experimenting changing the lighting in the
faces of animations ~ the three suns Second Life gives us are good
but need tweaking to give us more light and natural skin tones.
It takes away some of the art of making pictures inworld using
photoshop tho' adding another layer of digital image manipulation is
Machinima is a modern word
for movies made within a simulation using animated cameras -
start with Fraps
Well, looks like after thirty
years as a photographer I get my own photo blog - come back
for more jottings!
